What is an Education Freedom Account (EFA)?
• Education Freedom Accounts (EFAs) were established as part of the LEARNS Act. Funds in these accounts may be used to pay for tuition, fees, uniforms, and certain other education-related expenses.
What can I use an EFA for?
• Beginning in 2024-2025, EFA funds can be used on a variety of education-related expenses, beyond just tuition, including: uniforms, other expenses required by a school, instructional and supplementary materials, fees for college and certain tests, fees for service providers for students with a disability, some transportation servcies
Where can an EFA be used?
• EFA funds can be used at participating private, parochial, and private charter schools in Arkansas. EFA funds can also be used by homeschoolers and microschoolers.
How much money is in an EFA?
• Students can access up to 90 percent of what the state spent per student in the previous school year. For the 2024-2025 school year, the amount is $6,800.
